I had a reader write in to ask about sports bras for DD+
My top recommendation is the Enell sports bra. This thing will strap you in and keep you there. I can jump up and down without any movement.
I also own a Penache sports bra (goes up to a size H) which I love and recommend

Check out the barenecessities website for a good selection of sports bras in larger sizes (there’s quite a few that go up to an H cup)
One of my favorite online lingerie shops, Bare Necessities has released a new plus size section. Now, they’ve always carried one of the largest collections of beautiful bras in a huge array of sizes. They’ve extended their sizing and are really stepping up their range.
Some of my favorite bra brands for over D-cups include: Panache, Fantasie, Freya, and Elomi.
For the longest time, I could not find bras that would fit me. I actually never knew what a good fitting bra felt like. I wondered why it would ride up in the back and sag in the front.
And then I had a boob-changing experience. I had a bra fitting and realized I was wearing a band size 4 sizes too big and a cup size 2 sizes too small. holy crap! But with that news was the awareness that my new size just isn’t found at victoria’s secret or most department stores - so WHAT TO DO?
Well first of all, I’d like to recommend Nordstrom to all of you. They carry a wide range of hard-to-find sizes (like 34H or 42B or whatever). Plus, they do great fittings and they have a fantastic return policy. Now of course I can’t speak to every store, but my experiences have always been wonderful and not fat-phobic in the least. So please, if you’ve never been fitting, go spend a few hours with the wonderful women in the Nordstroms lingerie department.
Once you’ve figure out your sizing - you can then buy online. I really love the site barenecessities.com. you can search by size and they have a lot of really good deals.
Now as for brands, I’ve made a polyvore (below) of some of my favorites. I hope this helps!

My lovely friend H and I went bra-shopping for her this weekend. I suspected she was wearing a too-small bra and suggested that we go to Nordstroms for a fitting. It was a very nice experience and she got some beautiful pieces.
I totally recommend Nordstroms for bra fittings and shopping. Not only will you get into the right size, but they have a great selection (up to about cup size H). Plus, once you know your size, then you can go shopping online. My favorite place for large-size bra shopping is barenecessities.com. They make it so easy to shop by size and they are usually at least 20% less expensive than buying in a store. I recently picked up a razor racer-back bra and a sports bra for $60 total! A STEAL for bras in my size.
